Footy racing 28th July 2015
Some exciting racing was good to watch on our Footy Tuesday in the month.
Several persistently good club skippers made the day for us displaying their personal expertise in modeling and very importantly sail choice and design on quite a windy day for these brave little boats.
Particularly apparent was the experience by several of our older hands to cross the starting line first and in the most advantageous position.
Particularly noteworthy at several advantageous starts and as seen in this photo at the gun of Roger Unitt and his new boat and carefully made 3 panel beautifully setting sail.
Roger is an accomplished modeller and has become a formidable sailor in two seasons, members will do well to keep an eye upon his boats.
Allan Coleman made some first class starts on the gun showing his years of skillful dinghy experience.
Graham Tite our Commodore coming to grips with Robin Webb's fine boat boat gave some excitement with Roger Unitt bidding for the lead on several occasions, making for some nail biting spectating.
Once again a very pleased deserving Sid Sims lifted his boat out first after his winning moment, well done.
Now there is another month for some more fine Footy tuning and sail making, then another day for exciting radio controlled sailing.
