Micro Magic Racing 2015
See 2015 Micro Magic overall positions HERE
WE HOPE TO RACE DURING THE WINTER IN A SIMILAR FORMAT i.e. MM ON THE THIRD TUESDAY OF THE MONTH BUT FIRST HEAT TO START AT 1330hrs
17th November 2015 - The Lady Bea Clissold Counterblast Plate
Forecast winds of 40mph gusts didn't quite materialise but there was certainly a strong enough south westerly to give skippers something to think about. One thought was whether to change down rigs if available, but the standard rig was probably the one to stick with and just cope with getting overpowered and flattened occasionally.
Mike S is now the proud possessor of Her Ladyships magnificent trophy (thanks Mark), but was closely pursued by John and Graham. (don't worry folks, he doesn't intend to make a habit of winning).
Thanks go to Mark and Clive for officiating, Graham, Ron and Mark for buoy laying duties and Ian for refreshments.

20th October 2015
A pleasant north westerly greeted us for the last of the 2015 Summer Series. Markers laid down for next season by Messrs Tite, Burgoine and Coleman (sailing his MM for the first time). However a look at the 2015 overall results shows "you have to be in it to win it". Well done to Graham Saunders. Thanks to Clive and Ron for running a tight ship and Ian for tea and biscuits.

Ten skippers enjoyed a pleasant afternoon's racing in a reasonable westerly. Threatened rain did not happen. Another impressive result for John B (35), showing him able to race well in all classes. Alan S (269) sailing Don Stokes boat also showed experience counts. A second for Graham (457) puts him in a good place for 2015 overall winner. In spite of three DNS/DNF due to rudder servo connection problems, Sid managed a creditable sixth. Brian (39) still showing remarkable consistency.
Thanks go to Allan and Ian for officiating and Ian for tea and biccies. Some pictures here.

A nice fairly steady north westerly today. Ideal conditions on this lake. John Burgoine, new to Micro Magics, with a very impressive debut looks like he's going to be the man to beat in the future.. However Mr Consistent, Graham S with a second place looks good for the overall 2015 positions. Thanks to Robin, Allan and Rob for officiating and Ian's tea making it all worthwhile.

A stiff south westerly and it was thought best to move the course down the lake to in front of the Commodore's box to avoid the wind shadow in front of the clubhouse. It certainly worked as most of the time there was plenty of wind (too much at times!). A variety of rigs were used and the smaller ones were occasionally an advantage and surprisingly didn't cause too much of a drop in boat speed. However the day's winner stuck with a No.1 (too idle to change). Graham (400) with three wins might have cause to feel a little hard done by as Mike (451) had only one win. Maybe a case of the tortoise and the hare. Some casualties, Brian had servo problems, Don had enough after one race and Rod's mobility problems made it impossible to sail this course.
Thanks go to Alan, birthday boy Allan and Robin for keeping things on track and of course Ian for tea.

16th June 2015
The wind seemed back to normal today. A very variable Westerly occasionally dropping to almost dead calm. However, keen racing was had with the largest MM fleet so far this year.
Thanks go to Clive who kept strict good order, Rob scored and Ian provided tea.

21st April 2015
Eight skippers enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon's sailing on a triangular course in bright Spring sunshine and a reasonably consistent north easterly breeze.
Mike (451) got away to a cracking start with three wins but something in the tea or possibly Dave Peters' birthday cake must have had an effect as Graham (457) had the better of him in the final heats. Brian (39) had radio problems and took the scenic route in heat one, but otherwise the little boats kept going with mixed fortunes for everyone.
Thanks go to Clive and Graham for keeping order and John and Graham again for buoy duties.
