At last a decent westerly gusting to the top of No.1 rig made for exciting and interesting racing.
A fairly crowded start line and the windward mark were where most "incidents" took place, but they seemed to be resolved fairly amicably.
The cream rose to the top and the first three places were only separated by one point a place.
A notable score was Brian (11) 2nd. in race 6. Well done.
Many thanks (again!) to John and Ian for tea and biccies and to "H" for the scores.

The wind strength - a very brisk north-westerly - played a big part in these results. Those without No.2 rigs eventually gave up the struggle and the fleet was much reduced in the later races. Clive had a very promising start, but a combination of rudder problems and water in the works put paid to his chances. Roger sailing in his first IOM race did very well. Robin changed rigs at tea break which allowed him a couple of firsts and to win the day.
Many thanks to the two Marks for organizing and John and Ian in the galley.

Light winds made for close racing.
Weather obliged by having a good downpour during tea break when the last of Ron's birthday cakes were consumed - thanks, Ron

A great afternoons sailing in lovely weather for a change.
A light NE varying breeze with tricky sailing to the windward buoy in the lee of our dam.
An extra race at the end saw Sid Sims borrow Robin's boat and show the others how to do it! (perhaps he should look for an IOM of his own?) Results below.

2012 season final results
If an event has to be abandoned it will be rescheduled to the next free Tuesday.
Eight events in the calendar for each class, best six to count for series result.
I would like to keep up the quality of the racing and have everyone do their best to hold to the standard racing rules. Help and advice will be available to all, if you are unsure please ask.
I think that’s all for now, don’t forget this is YOUR club if you have any issues/improvements to the way we operate them please communicate them to myself or any of the committee members and we will do our best to resolve/act on them for you.
