23rd August 2016
Very warm humid day. Forecast winds from the south but on the water tended to come from all directions. When coming from the northwest I could smell the cattle on the far bank. Some skippers coped better than others and there was a large variation in sail area carried - larger probably better most of the time.
Thanks go to Alan Skitt and H for officiating and Ian for tea and biccies.

26th July 2016
Wind South Westerly, variable (as usual) but threatened rain didn't appear. Some close fought head to head interesting racing but Roger's consistency won in the end.
Servo failures spoiled Brian and Tony's day.
Thanks go to Robin and Clive for keeping order and Ian for tea and biccies

Lovely sunny afternoon, wind up and down and variable in direction. Just nine boats entered. John Burgoine and Graham Tite fighting it out at the front with John taking the first three heats Graham taking the next two so everything hinged on the last heat Graham needed to win the last heat with John finishing at least two places back Graham went close. Allan Coleman came third overall, chased by Dave Peters. Two T's Roger, Mark and Sid all very close. Brian Morris had a fun afternoon. Nice to see our new member Tony Butler fresh from Radio WM? having a go. Thanks to Ian Apps for the refreshments and Clive for calling the line - great afternoon. (GS)

26th April 2016 Ah, the British weather - four seasons in one day - Winter, Winter, Winter and Winter. However, nine hardy souls braved strong, cold and gusty north to northwesterly winds with some rain, sleet and hail. Most suffered boat problems and rigs were changed on a regular basis - some in mid heat. Graham (4) and Allan (96) managed to complete all heats and were duly rewarded in the placings. Thanks go to Clive for keeping order and Ian for refreshments. (MS) |
